This survey unit provides an historical overview and introduction to key people and events in the history of the Church. It explores issues of significance faced by Christianity throughout the life of the church. Students will explore how the church and individuals have responded in the past and how this has made an impact on the life of the church and Christian expression today.

Learning outcomes

Demonstrate an understanding of key themes and events in the history of the church;

Articulate specific ways in which thinking about God and questions of faith have changed through Christian history

Pedagogy

12 weeks of teaching weekly for online and face to face 2 weeks, 18 hours class time per week, for two week intensive face to face only 36 hours class time over 6 days for six day intensive face to face only 3 blocks of 2 days teaching – 12 hours per block for one week extensive face to face only
