This unit explores the sacramental ministry of the church, especially, Baptism and Eucharist and ordained ministry in the context of the whole people of God. It aims to help students to understand the biblical bases of sacramental theology and practice and of Christian Ministry, to identify the mutual shaping of sacramental practice and theology through Christian history, to appreciate critically different sacramental theologies and views of ministry and to begin to develop a coherent theology with which to address contemporary questions about sacraments and ministry.
