  • Week 1: Introductory considerations: dating, literary integrity, structure, the history of Paul's dealings with the Corinthians.
  • Week 2: 1 Cor 1-4 Division within the community.
  • Week 3: 1 Cor 5-6: Immorality and litigation within the community.
  • Week 4: 1 Cor 7: The status of marriage in the light of the eschaton.
  • Week 5: 1 Cor 8-10: Food sacrificed to idols and the meaning of Christian freedom.
  • Week 6: 1 Cor 11-14: Spiritual gifts, over inflated egos and the true nature of the community as Christ’s body.
  • Week 7 1 Cor 15: The Resurrection and the mistaken view that some have already attained it. 1 Cor 16: Conclusion of the Letter
  • Week 8: 2 Cor 1-2 Paul attempts to deal with misunderstanding and the wounds caused by his previous letter. 2 Cor 3-7 Paul’s reflection on the nature of his ministry as apostle.
