Trigger warning: This unit will require dealing with traumatic topics in an educational context. Learning is the primary goal of this unit. It is noted from the outset of the unit that some of the material relates to contexts, descriptions, and depictions of trauma. Specific trigger warnings will be applied to material that is presented (including lectures, audio, readings, images) that will to the best of our ability give warning to students as to the extent and nature of the topic being covered. Students need to find the study space safe as well as academically rigorous.

Reading requirements: Each topic has a reading requirement. These readings may be useful for you with the assignments (especially the initial literature survey) and will be discussed in our zoom session with directed questions. Generally, the readings are an introductory or relevant chapter to a book on trauma that you can access as an eBook and can read the whole text if interested.
