Intensive: 30 June; 1, 4, 5, 6 July; Online sessions: Tues 16 August (6-9 pm) and Tues 23 August (6-9 pm)

This course is delivered as a face to face, in person Intensive over five weekdays, (Thursday Friday, Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday). The class will meet from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm on the advertised dates and will include scheduled breaks. Three two-hour tutorial sessions on-line will also be required after the intensive, during which student presentations will be made. It is expected that these will take place in August and September, with dates to be confirmed two weeks prior to the intensive? The schedule, outline and the reading material for this unit will be available to the student on the ARK Meta site, two weeks before the class begins for those who may wish to get a head start on the reading. Expectations: • Regular Attendance and informed participation in class sessions, both at the Intensive and at the three Zoom tutorials. • Submission of three assessment tasks – 1. Essay on nature of queer theology 2. Presentation analysing a queer text, artwork, or event 3. Integrative essay. See unit guide for requirements and the ARK meta site for grading criteria.

There is no textbook for this course as such. However Greenough, Chris. Queer Theologies: The Basics (New York: Routledge 2019) offers an introductory overview of the field and range of developed and developing studies which may be particularly helpful.
