Doing Theology in Public (CT9321P)

Intensive: 12-13 Aug, 9-10 Sept, 14-15 Oct

This unit will be co-taught by John Flett and Robyn Whitaker, along with several guest lecturers who represent “public theologians.” Classes will meet from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm and will be a mix of lectures, tutorials based on the readings, and practical skill building (such as workshopping an article for a newspaper with a journalist or learning how to make a podcast or do a radio interview). Students must be able to attend all 6 intensives days in person at Pilgrim. There will be pre-readings for each intensive block of two days. Students should have some prior units in theology, at minimum introductory units in systematic theology, missiology, and/or biblical studies, or permission of the lecturers to enrol.
