This unit builds upon AL1200A (Bohairic I) which introduced students to the vocabulary and grammar of Bohairic Coptic, as well as introduced some of the various sources of Bohairic. This unit (AL2200A) now consolidates and advances students’ knowledge of the Bohairic Coptic language through a study of Bohairic liturgical and biblical texts.

Unit sequence

Pre-requisite: successful completion of AL8200A (Coptic Language: Bohairic I)

Pedagogy

12 weekly sessions, synchronous and asynchronous. Each session consists of the teacher’s multi-media lessons augmented by the set texts, online quizzes and tasks. The unit will include a blended combination of 12 weekly zoom and face to face tutorials (3 hours each).
