This unit offers advanced study of one or more gospels, typically Matthew and Mark, and an opportunity to develop exegetical skills in the interpretation of the gospels. Students engage with central issues in gospel studies, including the history of the gospel tradition, source analysis, form criticism, historical settings, narrative design, and distinctive theologies. Students develop additional exegetical skills through close, disciplined study of selected gospel pericopes.

Prerequisites: 24 points either from a relevant discipline in Field B or in New Testament Greek
