Students will become acquainted with the basics of Christian theology and form a foundational understanding for theological reflection in the Orthodox Church with particular reference to the Coptic tradition. Key doctrinal themes will be explored, along with their exposition in contemporary liturgical practice.
Articulate and justify an understanding of the nature and purpose of theology
Identify doctrinal themes in Coptic liturgical practice today and evaluate the relationship between these themes and Coptic liturgical texts
Critically evaluate key theological doctrines in light of ancient texts
Compare and contrast different theological viewpoints amongst two or more Christian traditions.
