In this unit students will study key theological themes in dialogue with the Catholic faith tradition. The content requires engaging with the questions of God, faith, religion(s), and philosophies of life in humanity’s search for meaning, the person and ministry of Jesus Christ, the nature and mission of the Church as the community of Jesus’ disciples, and the role of the sacraments as a means of encounter with the Christ-event within a community that celebrates as Church. The unit provides students with an opportunity to develop their knowledge and understanding of the complexity of the Catholic theological tradition and to do this with an ecumenically sensitive mindset in the context of a religiously and philosophically diverse world.
