Delivery Notes: | This intensive will extend over five days straddling the third weekend of July (with a rest day on the Sunday): Thursday 18th, Friday 19th, Saturday 20th, Monday 22nd and Thursday 23rd. The unit will include an evening public lecture to be delivered by Prof Amy Plantinga Pauw on the evening of Thursday July 18th, the first day of the unit. Online support will be provided between the conclusion of the intensive and the conclusion of the assessment tasks.. Lectures will comprise input, discussion and workshops and will be held at Pilgrim Theological College and via Zoom. In addition to lectures from Prof Flett and Assoc Prof Thompson, there will be two guest lectures, in addition to her public lecture, from Prof Pauw. Class Preparation: Students are expected to complete the pre readings prior the intensive commencing and to participate in class activities/online discussion/etc. Resources provided: For each lecture topic, reading and links to recommended extended reading options are provided on the ARK meta unit. Students will need to undertake independent research via the library to complete assessment tasks. Attendance Expectations: Students are expected to attend all classes. If extenuating circumstances prevent you from being in class you are encouraged to contact the lecturer in advance. Workload Expectations: Beyond attendance at the intensive, students studying in this unit are expected to set aside nine hours per week throughout the semester including the mid-semester break in order to complete the required readings, class participation activities, and assessment tasks.
