Content

This unit builds upon Coptic Liturgical Manuscripts (A) which introduced students to the Coptic liturgical books that comprise the texts used for the performance of the Church's mysteries and services. This proposed unit (DL9510A) now consolidates students’ knowledge of texts contained in Coptic liturgical manuscripts through a detailed study of the services related to the ministering of the sacraments in the Coptic Church, the various offices and consecrations. The process of how hagiographical texts are incorporated into liturgical texts will also be examined.
