This unit contributes to equipping you as an independent practitioner in the provision of spiritual care through consideration of selected aspects of theology and praxis. You will explore recent trends in the theology of spiritual care and be encouraged to reflect on practice in a range of settings. You will develop a clear understanding of the role of spiritual carer/chaplain and strategies for effective working relationships within organisations. Recognising the complexity of spiritual care, you will grow in awareness of appropriate responses and interventions, diverse cultural perspectives, and professional, ethical and legal requirements.
