This unit continues and deepens the theory and practice introduced in Foundations of Professional Supervision. Supervisory practice is further explored through theoretical and practical sessions including a focus on ethical and other frameworks to evaluate processes and address issues that emerge. Safeguarding and other professional standards, legal and regulatory frameworks are specifically addressed and integrated. Assignments offer options to explore denominational and contextual issues. Theological and critical reflection, psychodynamics and self-care are key elements of the unit. Regular journaling will support theological reflection and reflective practice. Supervision of groups is the focus of the experiential learning. This unit includes 3 hours individual supervision on supervision of the student by a supervisor trainer.
