This unit equips you as a senior practitioner in the provision of spiritual care through advanced consideration of key issues in spiritual care praxis and leadership. You will examine recent trends in a range of settings. You will further develop practices of reflection in integrated care, self-regulation and respectful relationships. You will develop further strategies for effective management and collaborative care within organisations. Recognising the complexity of spiritual care, you will build confidence around appropriate responses and interventions, diverse cultural perspectives, and professional, ethical and legal requirements.

This unit assumes advanced practical experience in Spiritual Care and/or prior completion of DP8011P Spiritual Care: Independent Practitioner

This unit is specifically designed for chaplains and spiritual care workers with practitioner experience as managers

Pedagogy

The teaching in this unit seeks to bring together theoretical and practical approaches to leadership and classes will involve participation from students as they integrate experience, theory and new skills. Seminars, workshops with time for reflection, guided reading, case studies.
