This unit deepens the theory and practice introduced in Foundations of Professional Supervision with a particular focus on group supervision. Supervisor led and peer led group supervision will be the focus of this unit. Elements include critical reflection, reflexive engagement, active listening, theological and spiritual reflection, case studies and evaluation, and developing feedback and intervention skills in relation to groups, group supervision and peer led processes. Key aspects of psychodynamics in the context of group supervision are introduced Regular personal reflective practice is recommended to support role-based engagement. Supervision of groups is a focus of the experiential learning. This unit requires each student to log 10 hours as a supervisor in training. Additionally, the student peer groups will receive at least 3 hours of group supervision provided by a UD recognised Supervisor.
